Get the app and study offline

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Install GlobalCoach AI on your phone, tablet or computer in a few taps — no app store needed — and keep practice tests and study guides on your device so you can revise on the bus, on a flight or anywhere the internet is unreliable. It's included on every plan, including Free.

01 What the app is

The GlobalCoach AI app is our website installed as an app. Once installed it gets its own icon, opens in its own window without browser bars, and can keep the things you save for offline use. You sign in with the same account, and everything — tests, progress, streaks, Premium — is the same as on the website.

  • No app store and nothing to pay. You install it straight from your browser, and it takes up very little space.
  • Always up to date. New features arrive automatically; you don't download updates.
  • Offline practice. Save practice tests (including flashcards and listening tests) and study guides, then use them with no connection. Answers you give offline are sent and marked when you're back online.

Pick your device:

02 Android phones & tablets

The quickest way

  1. Open globalcoachai.com in Chrome and sign in.
  2. On your second visit a banner appears at the bottom: Install GlobalCoach AI. Tap Install, then confirm.
  3. The app icon appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

If you don't see the banner

  • Tap your initials (top right) to open the account menu and choose Install app.
  • Or tap Chrome's menu ⋮ and choose Install app (some versions say Add to Home screen).
  • In Samsung Internet, tap the menu ≡, then Add page to → Home screen. Other browsers have a similar Install or Add to Home screen option.

The banner never appears while you're taking a test, and if you tap Not now it stays away for 30 days — the menu option is always there.

03 iPhone & iPad

Apple doesn't show install buttons for websites, so you add the app from the Share menu:

  1. Open globalcoachai.com in Safari and sign in.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) — at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, at the top on iPad.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open GlobalCoach AI from its new Home Screen icon.

You can also choose Install app in the account menu, or tap Install on the banner — on iPhone and iPad these show the same steps. Safari works on every version of iOS and iPadOS; on recent versions Chrome and Edge also offer Add to Home Screen from their Share menu.

Tip for iPhone and iPad

Use the Home Screen icon rather than a Safari tab. If you only use Safari and don't open GlobalCoach AI for about a week, iOS may clear the items you saved for offline. Items saved in the installed app are kept.

04 Windows, Mac & Chromebook

Chrome or Edge (Windows, Mac, Chromebook, Linux)

  1. Open globalcoachai.com and sign in.
  2. Click the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar (a screen with a downward arrow) and choose Install. You can also choose Install app in the GlobalCoach AI account menu.
  3. If you don't see the icon, open the browser menu: in Chrome look under Cast, save and share; in Edge under Apps → Install this site as an app.

The app opens in its own window and appears in the Start menu (Windows), Launchpad and Applications (Mac) or the launcher (Chromebook). You can pin it to your taskbar or dock.

Safari on Mac

With macOS Sonoma or later, open the site in Safari and choose File → Add to Dock.

Firefox

Firefox on computers doesn't install websites as apps. You can still use GlobalCoach AI in a tab, and saving tests for offline works there too.

05 Saving for offline

Save things while you're online — for example before a journey. Each saved item keeps everything it needs on your device.

WhatWhere to find Save for offline
Practice tests — every question type, including flashcards, multiple choice, numeric and essayOpen the test; the button is under the test title.
Listening tests (with their audio)Open the listening test; the button is under the title.
Study guides — summary, key points, glossary and cheat sheetOpen a document's Study page; the button is next to Download PDF.
  • When it's done the button changes to Saved for offline. Tap it again to remove the item.
  • See everything you've saved in Offline downloads (account menu → Offline downloads). It shows how much space is used, lets you remove items one by one or all at once, and lists any tests waiting to be sent.
  • You can keep up to 40 items per device. Remove some to save more.
  • Timed exams, mock exams and organisation materials don't have a save option — see What needs internet.

06 Studying offline

  1. Open GlobalCoach AI from your home screen, dock or Start menu (or the browser tab you were using).
  2. A small Offline — saved tests still work notice appears at the bottom. Tap Downloads to see your saved items.
  3. Open a saved test and answer as usual, or read a saved study guide.
  4. When you finish a test offline you'll see Saved on this device. Your answers are kept safely on the device.
  5. Next time you're online with GlobalCoach AI open, the test is sent and marked automatically and you'll see Offline test submitted. Your score, streak and progress update as normal.

If you open a page you haven't saved, you'll see a You're offline page with links to your downloads. Pages you visited recently may still show their last copy.

If your connection drops during a timed exam: keep answering — your answers stay on the device — and reconnect before the timer ends so you can submit. Timed exams can only be submitted online because the time limit is checked by our servers.

07 What needs internet

Anything that creates something new or needs our AI works only online:

  • Signing in and creating an account.
  • Uploading documents and generating new tests, study guides and study plans.
  • The AI tutor and AI marking of essays (essays finished offline are marked once they're sent).
  • Speaking practice (your recordings are scored online) and creating new listening tests.
  • Timed exams and mock exams — you can answer offline, but submitting needs a connection.
  • Organisation materials, assigned assessments and Assignment Studio.
  • Upgrading, billing and account settings.

09 Shared devices & privacy

  • Saved items are stored only on that device, in the browser's storage. Nothing is shared with other apps.
  • Signing out removes everything saved for offline from the device. If you have tests waiting to be sent, GlobalCoach AI tries to send them first and warns you if any can't be sent yet.
  • If someone else signs in on the same device, the previous person's offline items are removed.
  • Each device keeps its own downloads — saving on your phone doesn't save on your laptop.
Before you sign out

If you finished tests offline, go online and open GlobalCoach AI first so they're sent. If you sign out while some are still waiting, you'll see Tests haven't been sent yet — choose Stay signed in, reconnect, and try again once they're sent. On a shared or public computer, always sign out when you're done.

10 Updates & removing the app

When we release an improvement you may see A new version of GlobalCoach AI is ready. Tap Refresh when it suits you — we never reload in the middle of a test.

To remove the app

  • Android: press and hold the icon, then choose Uninstall (or drag it to Remove).
  • iPhone and iPad: press and hold the icon, choose Delete Bookmark (or Remove App, depending on your iOS version) and confirm.
  • Windows, Mac and Chromebook: open the app, click the ⋮ or … menu in its title bar and choose Uninstall. On a Mac Dock app from Safari, remove it from the Dock and delete it from your Applications folder.

Removing the app doesn't delete your account or progress — sign in on the website any time.

11 Troubleshooting

I can't find an install option

Make sure you're using a supported browser: Chrome or Samsung Internet on Android, Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome or Edge on computers. Private or incognito windows can't install apps. If GlobalCoach AI is already installed, the option is hidden — look for the icon on your home screen or in your apps.

Save for offline isn't showing

It's only on practice tests and study guides. Timed exams, mock exams and organisation materials can't be saved. If you've reached 40 items, remove some in Offline downloads.

A saved test won't open offline

Check it shows Saved for offline before you lose your connection, and open it in the same browser or installed app you saved it in. Private browsing and clearing your browser data remove saved items.

My offline answers haven't been submitted

Open GlobalCoach AI while connected — tests are sent when the app is open and online. If you see Sign in again to submit the tests you answered offline, your session expired: sign in and they'll be sent.

Storage is full

Remove items you no longer need in Offline downloads. Listening tests use the most space because they include audio.
